I guess it's time I made an intro post, with me being much more active on Livejournal instead of just lurking like in the past...
Well here it is: Hi guys, I'm Pengu, and this journal is friends-only since it's a personal journal. I don't post any downloads on here, so no worries, you're not missing anything.
Um, to say a bit about myself - I'm a huge NEWS fan. I have been since 2005, when I watched Nobuta wo Produce and got Pi-baited. I already knew about Johnny's from Gokusen 1 and 2, but Yamapi was what really got me interested. I did some research and BOOM! I got addicted to NEWS. (Get it? newsxaddicted? Okay, shush... I made this account when I was 13.)

accio_news and I'm part of the team that runs Quntastic! 4 on Facebook. I say this, but I took a pretty long break from the fandom from around the Happy Birthday single up until Chankapana. I completely missed everything that happened and only mildly kept up with the songs and some of Tegomass stuff too. I'm not quite sure why but that was during my J-rock/Visual Kei phase as well as the beginning of my anime/manga phase.I'm still mildly interested in J-rock/Visual Kei and I still actively watch anime and read manga, but lately NEWS has become a big focus in my life. They just bring me so much happiness and motivation, and they're a big inspiration to me.
Other Johnny's group I like are (in no specific order): Kanjani 8, Hey! Say! JUMP, KAT-TUN, Johnny's WEST, and I guess I can say A.B.C.-Z, Kis-my-ft2, and Arashi. I was a big fan of ABC and Kisumai in their Jr days, but I'm not too familiar with their activities after debut. I do keep a ranking of Johnny's that I try and update if I learn more about someone or something like that.
I'm not very invested in ships but I love the Koyashige and Tegomass dynamics, in terms of friendship, but that's a discussion for another day.
Other artists I like are: EXILE & EXILE Tribe (especially GENERATIONS), RADWIMPS, ELLEGARDEN, Perfume, Tommy Heavenly6/Tommy February 6, etc. My Livejournal is mainly Johnny's centered, though.
Outside of fandoms and stuff, I'm interested in Japanese fashion such as Lolita fashion, as well as makeup and nails. I have a boyfriend, three cats, and I'm currently majoring in Chemistry in school. I think going into the cosmetics field would be cool. I dabble in cosplaying occasionally, too.

I'm Leya, from the Philippines. I've known NEWS since 2009 but only entered the fandom in 2010. Tegoshi-biased, loud and proud! But mostly I do my 'noise' on Facebook, as I have limited net access nowadays I couldn't keep my other accounts alive ._.
I was glad that you created the accio_news comm though that's not the actual reason I want to add you. Tonight I was lurking at LJ, checking accounts of some active users that has been active since 2007 (and even earlier). I kind of felt emotional because these fans are so awesome for everything they'd done for the fandom, from sharing stuff, translating, saying their own thoughts about NEWS and most importantly, just simply staying. And then for some reason I clicked upon your journal and "oh, fan since 2005... You're now added to the cool and loyal fans list!"
I hope you add me back xD I'm really not good at initiating talks, maybe it's just my hyper-emotional self today that did all the ramble. hahahahahahaha~ have a nice day!

Oh wow, I'm honored to hear that!! I agree with you, a lot of people have left the fandom over the course of the two hiatuses and it's honestly kind of depressing, but at the same time this makes the fandom stronger and more close knit, in a way. Even though there's been some animosity between some fans and their opinions towards the members, both past and present, I feel like that's all done and over with and what we have left is just a really strong bond. It's kind of magical. Or maybe I'm just really optimistic. LOL
Anyways. I'm gonna go ahead and add you back! I'm also not very good at initiating conversation, but hopefully we'll be able to talk and become friends and whatnot. It's always nice to meet other fans, especially ones that are still around despite all that's happened. Have a good one!

Date: 2015-04-26 03:10 pm (UTC)honestly I'm still getting used to have long talks with international Paanas because in these past years I was contended being with co-fans from the same country LOL xD But having seen that everyone's really united now (despite the occasional animosity that you mentioned), it's so nice to be more open and friendlier ^.^
I'm not always on twitter, I only go there whenever there's a big thing (like when 4vsX aired, etc.) :)

I agree, it's really nice to be able to become friends easily! I enjoy the intimacy of the fandom as it is now and I hope it stays that way, but at the same time I want NEWS to gain new fans. I mean, I'm sure they are, I've met many Paanas that are relatively new to the fandom.

Q. Who are you? Well my name is Edinelle from Australia and I've been a NEWS fan since 2008 when I cam across my sister watching their pacific concert and I decided to stay and watch ... Lo' and behold Tegoshi caught my interest and despite not knowing anything they were saying/singing, when his solo Ai Nante came on I fell in love with his voice and since then I've never looked back :L tbh I did go through a long phase ( 2 and half years maybe where I lost track) but I got back into them when I was stressed and decided to relisten to their happy-go-lucky music!
Q. What brought you to my profile? I came across it when you made a comment in the news-jpop comm (sounds stalkerish AHAHAH)
Q. Why do I want to add you? I actually follow the quntastic 4 page on facebook and watch the accio news community! I'd also like to talk more to NEWS' fans ^_^

NEWS has really came a long way since then and I'm happy to meet someone who's liked them since that time! :) Hahaha, coming from the newsjpop comm isn't too stalkerish, I don't mind it. thanks for adding me! I'd love to talk to you more too :)
